Puppy Love

6 yr old boy - "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good
life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?" The
six-year-old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so
they don't have to stay as long."

Whiley is my pup's name! she is a sweetheart and a bi-lingual sweetheart at that!

Life in the new site is getting better. I started a girls group! We have had a few meetings and the girls are really excited to be part of the group. We do team building activities and play sports. I am teaching them to play soccer and they think I was a professional back in the states! I am not one to argue, but I have reluctantly corrected them. I also introduced them to my an old recess favorite, kickball! It is a good mix between pelota (baseball) and soccer. They are a great group of girls from my neighborhood who are excited to do just about anything. I am also working with the women's organization, Asociacion de Mujeres, which is a random group of middle-aged women who are an absolute riot and like to just sit and chat! Rancho Campeche is another part of my project. It is an ecological retreat in my community that I am working with to unite the center with people from the community for environmental education. Whiley loves it there because she can run wild with other dogs! More blog to come in the future, but I have to run to a eco-jam at Rancho Campeche!
