Feliz Navidad! I mentioned to a few people that I am Jewish and don't celebrate Navidad, but that seemed to go over just as well as salami on a vegan's plate. So, I am no expert on this Holiday, but I think they do things a bit different here..... for one Cena Buena (literally translates to "good dinner") is the highlight of all the festivities and takes place on Christmas eve. As far as Christmas is concerned, it may just as well be another day in December, with one slight exception. It is the day of all days to "pasear", meaning walk around and show off your new outfit. Now, I was always used to this as a first day of school custom, but in Las Pajas it is what December 25th means. I am not sure what this has to do with celebrating Jesus' birthday, but then again I spend 8 nights eating latkes and playing dradle with electricity to celebrate my religion. Anyway, I survived my first Dominican Christmas!
I also survived a dog bite recently. The dog did not want to be left out of Cena Buena either I guess. I got vaccinated, so rabies should not be in the cards for me. Well, I hope everyone reading this is enjoying the Holidays and appreciating the cold, crisp weather there, because here the weather stays hot no matter what religion you are.

Hi Honey !
I just visited your blog again. You have a talent for writing !
Thanks for the photo of the cow and the man on the tractor. I clicked on them to enlarge. I especially liked the enlarged cow. Does the cow have a name ?
I like that your family misses you, even after 5 minutes. Feeling wanted is a nice feeling.
I like your warm weather.
I like the agriCULTURE.
Our landlords, Penny & John Montigny, invited us to join them on Christmas. It was a very nice get-together. A neighbor and John's mother and siblings were also present, as was their 5th grade daughter.
Today is rainy and cool, but at least not snowing.
Last night mom & I watched the Kennedy Center performances honoring Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys fame, Diana Ross of The Supremes fame, Steve Martin of comedy/movie fame, et al. Fun.
Right now, we're listening to music. Pretty soon, I'll be going to Bally's. Mom has a hair appointment.
I miss you !
Love, love, love,
Dad
Hey Rach,
I'm not quite sure how to follow "Jose's" post, but I'll do my best.
Sounds like you had a fun Christmas, strutting your stuff around town ;) Hope you had a good New Year, too. Josh and I were down in Ptown with a bunch of friends. It was great to just hang out for a few days and relax. The weather was great - it nearly hit 50 degrees, can you imagine? Hmmm, I bet you can...
Miss you,
Vic
